Where to Pay Traffic Fine in Taiwan?

Do you know? To pay a late traffic fine now, you don’t need to go and pay at local district court as before. As long as you get the citation, you can pay it at convenience stores and Post Office!

  1. Before Due Date: After receiving your traffic fine/ ticket by mail (usually red color), you can pay for it at several major convenience stores such as: 7-Eleven, Family Mart, OK Mart, and Hi-Life (counter payment) or Chung Hwa Post Office. The due date for payment will be stated in the letter, so you better not to be late. (FYI: the official fine statement usually is the one you will receive by mail later, not the one that police officer issued to you on the spot when you get caught for a traffic violation)
  2. (Traffic violation ticket issued on the spot by police officer)
  3. After Due Date: If you pass due date, your fine can’t be paid directly without the citation issued by local vehicle registration department. So, you need to go to vehicle registration office first and get the citation. Then, bring it with you and pay the late fine at major convenience stores mentioned above or at Chung Hwa Post Office.

Lost Your Traffic Fine/ Ticket?

If you lost your fine/ ticket, don't panic. You can get another copy of it by printing it out at self-service machine such as: IBON (7-Eleven), FAMIPort (Family Mart), LIFE-ET (Hi-Life) or OK go (OK Mart). Don’t get confused between self-service machine and ATM Machine! It’s different! Ask for help from the staffs if you don’t know how to use them, then go to the counter and pay for it.
