Hello, this is Judy.
I am a foreigner living in New
Taipei City now. Four years ago, I went to Taiwan for the first time to pursue
a master degree at one of the public universities in Taiwan. The main reason I
was eager to study in Taiwan is that I got scholarship offered by my
university. Besides, I also wanted to step out of my comfort zone, learned to
live independently, and experienced Taiwan culture by myself, for sure.
Graduated from the university,
I faced a lot of changes and challenges in my life. I started looking for a job
in Taiwan and got married to my Taiwanese boyfriend. Well, challenges in life
never run out though, since life itself is a never-ending challenge :-) Until
now, I have been staying here for almost 4.5 years.
I realized, when I was a
newcomer, it was not really easy to adjust to Taiwan life. Problems mostly come
from language barriers, especially for those who have poor Chinese proficiency.
Luckily, I have intermediate level of Chinese as I have learned it for 5 years
in my country of origin before I came to Taiwan.
This blog provides all about
living-in-Taiwan related information. My focus and purpose of writing this blog
is to help foreigners in Taiwan, especially those newcomers to better adapt to
the life in Taiwan. Hope you all find
the information provided here useful.
Regards,
Judy
